March for Life 2017 : Went the day well?

May 25, 2017

The United Kingdom’s national  March for Life held in Birmingham on Saturday 20th May went very well, despite inclement weather and the intervention of rent-a-mob.  Mass at Saint Chads Cathedral  was standing room only and with three Bishops officiating and attending the Rally and March, we were well cared for.  There is no doubt that the organisers are meticulous, with even the route from Saint Chads to Victoria Square watched over by marshals, and participants handed a route map that also contains a code of conduct including “Remember above all as Christians we are ambassadors of Christ’s love, this needs to be evident in our actions as well as in our hearts”.  And so to Victoria Square with food and pro-life stalls alongside the March for Life shop, live music and magnificent guest speakers, accommodated very professionally on a covered stage with mega sound-system and huge tv screen.  Railings surround the Rally site with entrance controlled and people signing in.  Someone remarked that it has a feeling of Glastonbury about it.  We all feel very safe watched over by our guardian angel marshals and there is now an enhanced police presence.  But still the anarchists and trots turn out to cause as much trouble as they can.
